SMS communication is still one of the most effective reach channels – both for customers (marketing, shipping notifications) and employees (urgent production replacements, HR notifications). Odoo has a great, built-in text message sending mechanism. However, there is one major business problem with it: costs.
By default, Odoo uses its own credit system (Odoo IAP). Sending a single SMS in Poland via IAP often costs several dozen grosze. With mass marketing campaigns or hundreds of system notifications, these costs skyrocket rapidly.
That is why we created a dedicated module: SMSPlanet SMS Gateway for Odoo. It allows you to completely bypass expensive Odoo credits and connect the system directly with the Polish operator SMSPlanet.pl.
Why is it worth integrating Odoo with your own SMS gateway?

Transparent costs – how much does it really cost?
The module allows you to sign an agreement directly with the SMSPlanet.pl operator (PostPaid model). The minimum monthly fee at the operator is 50 PLN net (this amount is fully usable for sending messages).
The rate for a single SMS (with a custom sender field) decreases as the monthly sending volume increases:

Configuration in 5 minutes
You don't need complicated technical implementations to start sending cheaper SMS messages. Configuring the module in Odoo (from version 19.0) comes down to a few clicks:
Go to Settings → Technical → SMS.
Check the "Send via SMSPlanet" option.
Paste your API Token generated in the SMSPlanet panel.
Enter the approved Sender Name (or use TEST during the testing phase).
Click Register Webhook so the system automatically receives information about delivery errors.
Done. From this moment on, all outbound SMS communication from your ERP system will be carried out on your terms and at Polish rates.
