Yes, we perform migrations starting from Odoo version 8.0. If you have an even older version, please contact us.
I have dedicated modules, custom-built for our company. What is the cost of migrating these modules, and what does the process involve?
We are unable to provide a valuation without a detailed scope review.
Custom-developed modules typically require a code update when transitioning to a higher Odoo version. Before initiating the migration, the source code of the modules must be refactored to the new API.
After reviewing the module code, we will estimate the time required for the update. Based on this valuation, we will prepare a migration proposal, factoring in the labor costs for module development.
I have Odoo Community edition – will Adapt IT perform a migration for a non-paid version?
Of course! Regardless of the edition or hosting method, we will undertake the migration.
I have a private server at my company's facility. There is no external access, and on-site presence is required. Does Adapt IT perform work on-site?
If you are located in southern Poland – yes, we offer collaboration based on physical presence on-site. If your company is located further away, please contact us to discuss the details.
Will the system be unavailable to employees during the migration?
The system will be available at all times – except for the final step (production migration). First, we perform the migration on a duplicate server. Once we are certain that everything is prepared, we set a date that will not conflict with working hours. Thanks to this prior preparation, we know the estimated time the migration will take.
Will modules from the App Store work after the migration?
It depends. Some modules might work, but it is generally expected that they won't. You will likely need to purchase the module in its new version. We also offer to perform the update of such modules.
Can I migrate from Community to Enterprise?
Yes, this is a frequent business scenario.
I have Odoo Enterprise – doesn't Odoo perform migrations for free?
Yes, they do. They have a special migration script and offer to fix all errors caught during the migration. Our task in this case is to verify the test migration and point out errors (which Odoo must then fix).
Do I need to change my server during migration?
It depends on your current setup. If your server has an old operating system, a change is recommended. Newer Odoo versions utilize newer libraries. Your cybersecurity also depends on that server. An Odoo migration is an excellent time to upgrade your infrastructure.
